Nadine and Jean-Luc own a lovely Bed & Breakfast in the region of Picardie, north of Paris. After a failed attempt with another designer, they asked me to take upon the project of redesigning their website. They wanted it to reflect the ambiance of the domain, an 18th century farm entirely remodeled in a subtle mix of antique and contemporary design, where art and gardens mingle harmoniously.
I chose to design the new website around a virtual visit of the property, starting at the reception desk and ending in the park. It was in 2013 and responsive design was not the norm yet, but I included in my quote a "mobile-friendly" option based on Ethan Marcotte guidelines. The client liked the idea and didn't regret his choice. Today 60% of the traffic of the website is done through mobile devices.
According to the client's estimation, the number of visits increased by 35% after the release of the new version, generating a +7% in direct reservations.
1. A view of the homepage. The site exists in English and in French.
2. Our last work together: a section dedicated to the construction of a new feature, the Nest on the Pond.
